Default Ranger Armor: Or, What Should I Buy From Droks?

Hey there,

I'm wondering what combination of ranger armor, or armor set, will give me the best protection for my ranger. Any suggestions? I'm in Droknars Forge, so that's what I have to choose from. Thanks any replies, guys.

Actually all the armour in Droks give the same AL, 70. So..its just a matter of choosin the special stats that each armour has to offer.....and i recommend Druids as it gives you more energy..compared to the others(they give you more defence against elemental damage)

Druids is good, but Drakescale will help you a lot in the last mission.

You should buy two sets : Druids and Drakescale.

Just buy druids and u will be fine, the other armors are far to situational.
Just go for the energy, you wont regret it ;-)

ok, I have a question too regarding this armour. I'm not at droks yet but was looking at the items needed to craft druids and you need an insane amount of wood & hide (and gold) so exactly how do i gather these materials or whats the best way to do it?

well i am thinking of getting collectors armour, cos i think it looks the best

..Also do the bonus on the armour stack, unlike knights armour, so say you could have 15 fire and 15 ice protection on gloves and shose and would they be globle?

Hits are locational. If you are hit with fire damage on an ice resistant glove you don't get the fire resist from your boots added into the equation about how much damage you take.

Drakescale is useless on the final mission as most groups will want you to bring winter.

In which case use Fur-lined!

But seriously, I just use Druid's armor and be done with it. Extra energy is more useful for me than the chance to take a bit less damage from a specific element.

The +15 to an element just won't be all that noticable, since you already have 100 against all elements.

Winter turns all elemental damage to cold damage. Unless you also have Greater Conflagaration, all of the physical hits you take (which is the greater part of the damage recieved in that mission) will still be physical damage. In retrospect I guess you are right, Drakescale will not give you any extra protection. Its good for some ranger farming builds though.

They're all situational, having multiple sets is really the only way to go (assuming you have the gold for multiple sets).

I just wish that Druid stuff didn't look so stupid. Sticks for armor? I look like Wile E. Coyote dressed as a tree trying to catch the RoadRunner.

I guess druid's is the most useful, but with enough expertise, energy doesn't really seem to matter unless you're trapping. Go with whatever you think looks hottest.
